Plenty of young men will agree when I say, finding a decent girl is getting more difficult by the day. I hear so often from male friends and family about a female whose screwed them over. They ask questions like, “what did I do wrong or what can I do in the future to prevent this from happening again?” No concrete answer can be given simply because every female is different.

One female might end a relationship because she feels smothered while another female may enjoy having open relationships. I can only give advice on what characteristics one should look for in a female.

One cardinal rule is to never take a girl you meet in a club seriously. Just think; if a female is in a club then she’s a party girl. Who wants to worry about their girlfriend getting so lonely on a weekend that she’ll go to the club to grind on random guys? Another “don’t” is to begin going out with a girl that you recently had a one-night stand with or slept with shortly after meeting. If she slept with you the first night or in a couple of nights after meeting you then chances are she does that with every guy she meets. She most likely will give the excuse, “you’re special”, as the reason for sleeping with you so quickly but please don’t be fooled. A female that thinks she can “get what she wants” will say anything. Steer clear from females that feel the need to correct your mistakes.

Someone who says they want to be with you for you should be put to the test. For example, tell the girl that you don’t have money to go out on certain nights and see if she’ll offer to pay. If she truly likes you for you then she won’t care if you’re broke. Note: It’s a good idea to go out with someone who either; has similar aspirations as you do, has the same educational level as you, makes close to the same amount of money as you or makes more money than you. If a female refuses to pay for anything (or gets flustered when she has to pay) then she’s not worth the time. Be aware of a female that is willing to do anything for you. She may just be in a rush to trap you. Once you grant her everyday wishes, you’re in for a change. It’ll only be a couple of months before she turns into another person. Whatever you do, avoid marriage. You might be thinking that a prenuptial agreement can save you from all this. The truth is, you can safeguard yourself with a prenup if there are no children involved. When children come into the picture, you will almost always have to pay child support (it’ll be garnished from your paycheck depending on how many kids you have) and alimony payments if you went through a divorce. In other words, pregnancy is your worst nightmare. Its 18 years of utter pain.

With all this said, the main attribute of a decent female that you should is looking for, is FAMILY VALUES. Not to say that a female with a good upbringing won’t lie or cheat, but it is less likely. An obvious turn off should be a female with a broken family. Since her home life is in shambles, she will have no problem in making her boyfriend’s life miserable too. If either of her parents are/were alcoholics, drug addicts, substance abusers, etc., get yourself out of there. She will suffer from many psychological problems that are way beyond repair. Get yourself someone who has a good family. Stay away from a person who doesn’t have any manners.

Let’s face it; there is no philosophy behind choosing the right counterpart. A lot of it has to do with luck. With the divorce rate at over 60%, take no chances. If you plan to take the next step with someone, make sure you know what you’re getting yourself into. Get to know as much about the person as possible prior to taking the next step. Seek out someone with good moral fiber. Find a woman who is goal oriented and will encourage you to want to be a better man.
